One week down...

I have to begin by saying that the first week of school was amazing. I have already learned so much. There is homework every night and it makes for a very long day. I have to do lot's of research and create all kinds of sketches and story boards. There is a lot of color theory, skin care and of course, make-up. We did classic make-up, beauty make-up and Glamor (smokey eyes)

Yes, in case your wondering, there is a big difference. Classic is like the 40's-50's with red lips. Beauty is everyday make-up that will highlight and enhance "natural" beauty. Glamor is evening, red carpet or special event make-up. It has to be applied carefully or you could easily look like a "TRAMP".
The make-up is very thick and I can't imagine wearing it for more than a couple hours. Ick! After graduation we can use a different brand of make-up that feels much lighter.
(Thank Goodness)

Next week is Television and Film. We get to learn about application for the different medias.
My first teacher was French and is adorable. She works in Fashion and Photography. I have about 27 people in my class and about half of them have already gone through special effects, so I'm getting lot's of tips and advice.
I do love the classes. I have enjoyed the challenge and am looking forward to the adventure.
I miss my boys and Sean terribly. I knew that I would, but seeing them on Skype makes my heart sad. I wish they could all be here with me.
I am hoping that I will get to use my new talents when I get home.
Where there's a will there's a way, right?!
Seventeen weeks to go....

Congrats on making it through your first week!

I love your 40's makeup and hair - very beautiful! I'm curious to know if it is part of your homework to style your hair in the era that you are studying, or if you are just doing that on your own for fun?
